The tenth recipe in our NYC Brewery Series comes from Strong Rope Brewery. Strong Rope Brewery is located in Gowanus and is a fantastic place to try some truly local beers. As a New York State farm brewery a majority of their ingredients come from within New York itself. Their beers range from reinterpreted classics to seasonals that utilize local farms finest ingredients.
J.J. Bollerack's Big Brown Ale was the first beer Head Brewer (and owner!) Jason Sahler ever entered into a homebrew competition. He was fortunate enough to win the judges prize and it inspired him to open Strong Rope Brewery. The beer itself is made Erie Canal Pale Ale malt along with a balanced blend of caramel and chocolate malts that make it perfect for fall. Brew it today and drink it in October while sitting by a fire.
