Bitter & Esters Welcomes Stan Hieronymus to NYC

Bitter & Esters is excited to welcome Stan Hieronymus, noted author of many brewing books including: For the Love of HopsBrewing with Wheat, and Brew like a Monk. Stan is an expert in the craft beer world and will be making a few stops around New York City to talk about his most recent book, Brewing Local: American Grown Beer

His first stop will be on Friday August 18th at 6pm at Bitter & Esters homebrew supply shop in Brooklyn for a free talk about his new book Brewing Local: American Grown Beer. Stan will discuss the history of how distinctly American beers came about and how brewers are using novel ingredients to create unique beers in a competitive market. This is a great opportunity to speak with one of the most knowledgeable people in homebrew. Feel free to bring some homebrew for him to try.

Stan will be making a second stop on August 19th at 6pm, where he will be speaking at Fifth Hammer Brewing in Long Island City Queens for Make it Local. In July of this year, we took homebrewers on a foraging tour of Prospect Park in Brooklyn to find wild ingredients for beer making. We then invited homebrewers to make beers with their locally foraged ingredients. We’ll be serving those foraged beers with and chatting with Stan about what we made.

Both of these awesome events are free and open to the public. We look forward to seeing you!
