Bitter & Esters proudly welcomes Goose Island Brewer Tim Faith who will be joining us to talk about the beer lover's favorite flower, hops. Tim is the Innovation Brewer at Goose Island Beer Company and started as a cellarman at a small canning brewery in Iowa before coming to Goose Island. He ran the barrel program at New Holland Brewing Company and specializes in wild beers, oak maturation and blending. Over the course of the lecture he’ll be covering what malts to use, how to choose your hops more effectively, styles (session, standard, double/triple/imperial) and so much more! We'll be tasting some Goose Island IPAs + two other local IPAs during the session as well. Tim has also generously offered up his taste buds to 6 homebrewers per session if they want to bring in an IPA for evaluation. If you want to have your homebrewed IPA evaluated please select the Attendee + Homebrew Tasting option when checking out.
